Chennai’s Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market has witnessed a significant drop in prices this week. Due to slow monsoon rainfall and increased supply, many vegetables have seen a reduction of ₹5–₹50 per kg.
Key Vegetable Prices Today:
Beans: ₹80 - ₹40
Tomatoes: ₹35 - ₹30
Small Onions: ₹50 - ₹45
Carrots (Ooty): ₹80 - ₹50
Drumsticks: ₹80 - ₹70
Cauliflower: ₹50 - ₹30
Garlic: ₹100 - ₹110 (price increase)
Reason for Price Drop:
Limited rainfall and higher vegetable supply in the market have caused prices to drop, with some vegetables seeing reductions of up to 50%.
