Educational tour for the Chennai school teachers who did superbly in their profession!!
The efforts of the teachers in the TN schools have been noticed now.
On Sunday, 5th October, Chennai Mayor R. Priya grabbed many eyeballs when she flagged off an educational tour for those teachers who have been responsible for 100% pass percentage of the students in the public examinations in the class 10 and class 12.
It must be recalled that an announcement was made by the Mayor in the 2023-24 financial statement regarding an educational tour for those teachers who have helped students to achieve 100% pass percentage in class 10 and class 12 public examinations.
As many as 408 teachers who have helped the students to achieve the feat in 2023-24 academic year were taken on an educational tour to Kodaikanal, Hoggenakkal and Yercaud last year.
It is learnt that 550 such teachers who have helped the class 10 and class 12 students achieve 100% pass percentage in the public exams in the academic year 2024-25 are being taken on an educational tour to several educational institutions like IIM Trichy, NIIT Trichy and Kodaikanal international School etc. In the first phase on Sunday, Chennai Mayor R. Priya flagged off the educational tour with 184 teachers.
Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation or TNTDC would be taking as many as 184 teachers on 8th October, 184 teachers on 12th October and 91 teachers on 15th October. The flagging off event saw the presence of various personalities like GCC Commissioner Mr. J. Kumaragurubaran, education officers and teachers etc
