PM Narendra Modi Announces Big Bash League Opening Match at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on an official visit to Australia, visited the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where discussions were held on strengthening sporting ties between India and Australia.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi announced that the opening match of Australia`s Big Bash League (BBL) will be held at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai. If implemented, it would mark the first time a foreign domestic T20 league match is hosted in India, making it a historic milestone in international cricket.

As part of the event, former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh met Prime Minister Modi and held discussions during the visit.
