The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has unveiled its Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026 manifesto, with Chief Minister M. K. Stalin announcing a range of welfare schemes under the vision of “Dravidian Model 2.0”.
The manifesto was released at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai.
₹8,000 ‘Illatharasi Scheme’ for Homemakers
A major highlight of the manifesto is the ‘Illatharasi Scheme’, aimed at supporting homemakers from non-income tax-paying families.
- ₹8,000 coupon will be provided
Can be used to purchase household appliances such as:
- Washing machines
- Televisions
- Refrigerators
- Mixers
- Microwave ovens
- Electric stoves
- Can also be used to replace old appliances
Focus on Women Welfare
- Women’s monthly assistance to be increased from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000
- Currently benefiting over 1.31 crore women across Tamil Nadu
Education & Social Welfare
- Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme to be expanded up to Class 8
- Continued focus on education, infrastructure, and social justice
Support for Farmers
Free electricity beneficiaries (over 20 lakh farmers) to receive modern electric pump sets
Dravidian Model 2.0 Vision
M.K. Stalin emphasized that the manifesto builds on the achievements of the past five years, aiming to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s growth through inclusive development, welfare schemes, and long-term planning.
