Anna University to Implement Digital Visitor Management System to Enhance Campus Security
Anna University in Chennai is set to introduce a Digital Visitor Management System (VMS) at its Guindy Campus to strengthen campus security and improve visitor monitoring.
The new system will replace the existing manual visitor entry process with a digital platform that records visitor details, captures photographs and issues entry passes. This technology-based solution will allow security personnel to track visitors, temporary workers and vehicles entering the campus in real time.
Under the proposed system, visitors will be registered digitally, and QR code scanning and instant badge printing will be used to manage entry and exit efficiently. The system will also generate automated reports and alerts, helping university authorities monitor visitor movement and prevent unauthorized access.
Officials said the digital visitor management system will streamline security operations, improve transparency and enhance safety across the university campus. The initiative is part of the university’s efforts to adopt modern technology solutions for better campus management.
