To increase the enthusiasm of the students for science and to improve their creative thinking, the TN government would be taking a superb step.
There is some fantastic piece of news for the TN government school students. It is now said that the students studying in the classes 9 to 12 in the TN government schools would be taken on a science based educational tour.
On the behalf of the Directorate of Integrated School Education a circular has been sent to all district primary education officers now. It was mentioned in the circular that the TN govt has approved the funding to take students studying in the govt schools from class 9 to 12 on a science based educational tour under STEM project. Information is that through this the school students would be able to visit museums, planetariums, HEIs and research centres and learn about practices present there. By this, student`s enthusiasm for science would increase and their creative thinking would get better.
It must be taken into account that the students must be selected based on academic ability, attendance records, participation in major exams, reading ability, leadership, sports, involvement in group activities and art festival events etc. For educational based tourism, those nearby districts and nearby states could be selected. The safety of the students must be ensured before the educational tour. The students should not be taken near the water bodies etc.
The circular also mentioned the need to have women teachers on the tour if girl students are present. It is revealed that these works must be completed before 15th of November by following the guidelines. Enough care must be taken so that the regular educational activities do not get affected and appropriate instructions must be provided to school principals.
