Greater Chennai Corporation to Recruit Additional Staff for Door-to-Door Property Tax Collection

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is set to appoint additional personnel to strengthen the collection of property tax and professional tax as part of its efforts to increase civic revenue.

The Corporation has decided to deploy more staff to improve tax collection efficiency and recover long-pending dues across the city. As part of the initiative, the additional personnel will conduct door-to-door visits to collect outstanding property and professional tax payments from defaulters.

The move is expected to accelerate revenue collection, reduce pending tax arrears, and enhance the Corporation`s financial resources for implementing civic infrastructure and public welfare projects.

Officials said the strengthened tax collection drive will help improve compliance and ensure better revenue generation for the Greater Chennai Corporation.
