Heavy Vehicles Parked on NCTPS Road Cause Traffic Congestion and Safety Concerns in North Chennai

Heavy vehicles parked along NCTPS Road in North Chennai are causing traffic congestion and disrupting the smooth movement of vehicles on one of the region`s busiest industrial corridors.

The road, which connects NCTPS Junction and Pattamanthiri Junction, provides access to Ennore Port and several major industries. Frequent roadside parking of port-bound trucks has reduced the usable width of the road, leading to delays, especially during peak traffic hours.

Residents have raised concerns over the shortage of dedicated truck parking facilities, saying the issue affects daily commuters and increases road safety risks. They have urged the authorities to develop designated parking areas for heavy vehicles and take strict action against illegal roadside parking.

Traffic police said enforcement drives are being conducted regularly near NCTPS Junction and Pattamanthiri Junction, with illegally parked heavy vehicles being removed and penalties imposed on violators.

Improved truck parking infrastructure and stricter traffic enforcement are expected to ease congestion and enhance road safety along the NCTPS Road industrial corridor in North Chennai.
