New Re.1 currency released today
After a long gap of 20 years, one rupee currency has been released from today. This currency is signed by Finance Secretary Rajiv Mehrisi. And others are signed by Governor of Reserve Bank of India.
Due to the higher cost of printing currency, Re.1 currency stopped at November 1994. Rs.2 and Rs.5 currencies were also discontinued in the year of 1995. Now Rs.2 and Rs.5 coins only have been issued.
The re-launched Re.1 note having pink green on obverse and reverse in combination with others and also it will bear Asoka Pillar Symbol in the window.
