IndiGo Tiruchy - Chennai Flight Delayed for Six Hours Due to Technical Issue

An IndiGo flight from Tiruchy to Chennai was delayed by nearly six hours on Tuesday after a technical issue was detected before departure, leaving around 140 passengers waiting at Tiruchy airport for several hours.

The flight was scheduled to arrive at Chennai Airport at 9.30 am, but eventually reached the city at around 3.20 pm.

IndiGo Flight Delayed at Tiruchy Airport

The flight was originally scheduled to depart from Chennai at 7.10 am and reach Tiruchy at around 8.10 am. It was then scheduled to leave Tiruchy at 8.30 am and arrive in Chennai by 9.30 am.

However, while the aircraft was being prepared for its return journey to Chennai, a technical issue was detected.

Following the discovery, passengers were informed about the delay and asked to remain at the airport while the issue was being addressed.

140 Passengers Wait Nearly Six Hours

Around 140 passengers had to wait at Tiruchy airport for nearly six hours.

The prolonged delay caused inconvenience to passengers who were expecting to reach Chennai during the morning hours.

After the technical issue was rectified, the flight finally departed from Tiruchy at around 2.15 pm.

It subsequently reached Chennai Airport at 3.20 pm, around six hours later than its originally scheduled arrival time.

Chennai Airport Officials Cite Operational Reason

When contacted, Chennai airport officials said the flight delay was due to an operational reason.

The incident highlights the potential for technical and operational issues to affect domestic flight schedules and cause significant delays for passengers.
