Rain Expected in 8 Districts of Tamil Nadu: Weather Update

According to a statement issued by the Chennai Meteorological Centre, a wind discontinuity extends from South Interior Karnataka to the Gulf of Mannar across Tamil Nadu at an altitude of around 0.9 km.

Due to this weather system, moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds is likely at one or two places in Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar and Sivaganga districts today and tomorrow.

Light to moderate rain, along with thunder, lightning and strong winds, is also likely at one or two places in the southern coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, other Western Ghats districts, Tiruchirappalli, Namakkal and Salem.

On September 14, moderate rain is expected at one or two places in the Western Ghats districts and in Dharmapuri, Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Ariyalur, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts.
