UGC NET Re-Exam Dates Announced for English, Commerce and Sociology

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the re-examination dates for candidates who appeared for the UGC NET exams in English, Commerce and Sociology.

The UGC NET examination for 87 subjects was conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026. The NTA has released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects. However, the results for English, Commerce and Sociology were withheld following complaints about errors in the question papers.

A committee was formed to examine the complaints. Based on its recommendations, the NTA decided to conduct fresh examinations for these three subjects.

According to the official notification, candidates had reported several errors in the question papers, including spelling mistakes in the names of prominent scholars and errors in book titles. Considering the nature of these issues, the NTA decided to conduct the examinations again.

The English and Commerce re-examinations will be held on September 9, while the Sociology re-examination will be conducted on September 10, 2026.

UGC NET Re-Exam Schedule

* English: September 9, 2026, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

* Commerce: September 9, 2026, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

* Sociology: September 10, 2026, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
