IPL 2026: Lucknow Super Giants Defeat Chennai Super Kings by 7 Wickets
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a dominant seven-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their IPL 2026 clash held in Lucknow on May 15.
Chasing a target of 188 runs, LSG produced a powerful batting performance and reached the target in just 16.4 overs.
The foundation for the win was laid by openers Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis, who stitched together a massive 135-run opening partnership.
- Mitchell Marsh starred with a blistering 90 off 38 balls
- Josh Inglis contributed a steady 36 off 32 deliveries
- Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten on 32 runs
Although the victory was impressive, LSG remain at the bottom of the points table as they are already out of the playoff race.
Earlier, batting first, CSK posted 187/5 in 20 overs:
- Kartik Sharma top-scored with 71 runs
- Shivam Dube added an unbeaten 32 runs
- Dewald Brevis chipped in with 25 runs
The defeat has significantly damaged CSK’s playoff hopes. The team now has 12 points from 12 matches and must win their remaining games while depending on other results to stay in contention for the playoffs.
