Vandalur Zoo Closed for 11 Days from March 18 for Maintenance Work
The Arignar Anna Zoological Park, popularly known as Vandalur Zoo, will remain closed for 11 days from March 18 to March 28 for maintenance and repair works, according to the zoo administration.
Located in Chennai, the zoo is one of the largest zoological parks in India and is home to several rare animals and bird species including lions, tigers, bears, elephants, and deer. Thousands of visitors visit the zoo every day to see these animals and enjoy the safari experience.
Officials stated that urgent repair and maintenance work will be carried out inside the park during this period. As part of the work, the lion safari and deer safari services inside the zoo will also be temporarily suspended.
The zoo administration said the temporary closure is necessary to improve infrastructure, ensure safety, and maintain proper care for animals. Visitors planning a trip to the zoo are advised to schedule their visit after March 28, when the park is expected to reopen to the public.
