Trichy - Tambaram Express Regularised as Permanent Train by Southern Railway
In a major relief for passengers, the Trichy - Tambaram Express has been regularised as a permanent train service from March 1, replacing its earlier special train status.
The service is operated by Southern Railway, benefiting thousands of commuters travelling between central Tamil Nadu and Chennai’s southern suburbs.
Train Numbers and Operation Days
Train No. 16808 – Tiruchirappalli to Tambaram
Train No. 16807 – Tambaram to Tiruchirappalli
The train will run five days a week and will not operate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Key Stations Covered
The express train connects Tiruchirappalli Junction and Tambaram railway station, halting at important stations including Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Melmaruvathur and Chengalpattu.
