MIT-WPU, FPSB India Sign MoU to Promote CFP Certification

The School of Economics & Commerce at MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) has signed an MoU with FPSB India to enable eligible students to pursue the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certification alongside their academic programmes.

The collaboration aims to strengthen financial planning and wealth management education by providing students with globally recognised professional knowledge and career-ready skills.

Through the CFP® pathway, students will gain exposure to key areas including investment planning, retirement planning, taxation, risk management and estate planning, preparing them for careers in banking, insurance, wealth management, investment advisory and fintech.

The partnership comes amid the rapid expansion of India`s financial services ecosystem and growing demand for qualified financial planning professionals. As of September 2026, more than 236,300 CFP® professionals are present across 29 territories, including approximately 3,534 professionals in India.

The MoU is expected to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and help prepare MIT-WPU students for evolving opportunities in India`s financial services sector.
