Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rain Likely in 21 Districts Today

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast heavy rainfall in 21 districts of Tamil Nadu today.

According to the weather department, heavy rain is likely in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Tiruchirappalli, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupathur, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari districts.

Chennai and its suburban areas are expected to witness partly cloudy skies today.

The weather department further stated that over the next two days, isolated places in Tirunelveli hill areas, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupathur, Vellore, Ranipet, and Tiruvannamalai districts may receive heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.

For June 4, heavy rainfall with thunder and gusty winds is likely in Tirunelveli hill areas, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Dindigul, Theni, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, and Kanyakumari districts.

The RMC has advised people in rain-affected districts to remain cautious due to the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds.
