IPL 2026 Eliminator: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Explosive 97 Powers Rajasthan Royals Past SRH

Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered one of the most explosive knocks in IPL history, smashing 97 runs off just 29 balls to help Rajasthan Royals defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs in the IPL 2026 Eliminator.

Playing at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Chandigarh, the 15-year-old stunned the SRH bowling attack with a fearless innings featuring 12 sixes and 5 boundaries. He narrowly missed what could have been the fastest century in IPL history, falling just three runs short.

Thanks to Sooryavanshi’s incredible assault, Rajasthan Royals posted a massive 243/8 in 20 overs. Contributions from Dhruv Jurel (50 off 21) and Riyan Parag (26 off 12) further strengthened the total.

In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad began positively but struggled against the fiery pace of Jofra Archer, who removed key batters including Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Ishan Kishan. SRH were eventually bowled out for 196, ending their IPL 2026 campaign.

The win sends Rajasthan Royals into Qualifier 2, where they will face Gujarat Titans for a place in the IPL 2026 final.

Sooryavanshi’s breathtaking innings also saw him break Chris Gayle’s long-standing record for most sixes in a single IPL season, further cementing his rise as one of the tournament’s biggest breakout stars.
