Namakkal Egg Price Falls by 20 Paise Today

The egg purchase price in the Namakkal region has decreased by 20 paise, after remaining unchanged for the past 13 days.

Namakkal has more than 1,100 poultry farms, with around 4 crore laying hens. These farms produce nearly 3 crore eggs every day.

At the National Egg Coordination Committee meeting held in Namakkal today, it was decided to reduce the egg purchase price from 560 paise to 540 paise.

The decline has been attributed to reduced egg consumption during the Purattasi month, as fewer people are consuming non-vegetarian food. This has reportedly resulted in a buildup of eggs at poultry farms, contributing to the price reduction.

After remaining stable for 13 consecutive days, the Namakkal egg price has recorded a decline today.
