Chief Minister Vijay Inspects Egmore Government Hospital, Orders Better Healthcare Services

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay paid a surprise visit to the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children in Egmore on Wednesday following public complaints regarding hospital services.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed various departments and held discussions with doctors about maternity care, medical equipment, and healthcare facilities. He instructed officials to ensure quality treatment, improved hygiene, and prompt medical services for patients.

Chief Minister Vijay also interacted with new mothers admitted to the hospital and enquired about their health and the medical care being provided.

Speaking to reporters after the inspection, Health Minister K.B. Arunraj said that the contract staff found responsible for the reported irregularities had been dismissed.

The State Government said surprise inspections at hospitals and other public institutions will continue to strengthen healthcare services and improve facilities for the public.
