CMRL service from Nehru Park to Chennai Central from March
The Chennai Metro Rail project activities are in full swing. The public services are being introduced as and when the project activities on the track are completed in a gradual manner.
Presently CMRL services are available in 2 sections � Nehru Park-Koyambedu, St. Thomas Mount and Little Mount-Airport.
The track-laying and most other works have been completed in the section between Anna Salai DMS-Saidapet. The work in the section Nehru Park-Central is also completed.
So, there are plans to commence the public service on the above 2 sections from March. Presently, arrangements are being made for conducting the test-runs.
Once services commence in the section Central-Nehru Park, it would be possible to reach Koyambedu (the outstation bus terminus) and the airport in fairly quick time.
