Election Duty 2026: Retired Police & Ex-Servicemen Can Apply in Chennai
Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, Chennai City Police has invited applications from retired police personnel and ex-servicemen to participate in election duty and support security arrangements across the city.
This initiative is aimed at ensuring smooth polling, strong law and order, and enhanced security during the election period.
Who Can Apply?
- Retired police officers and personnel
- Ex-servicemen (Army, Navy, Air Force)
- Former paramilitary personnel
Candidates with prior experience in security and law enforcement will be given preference.
Roles & Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be assigned duties such as:
- Polling booth security
- Crowd and law & order management
- Assisting election officials
They will be paid government-fixed remuneration for their services.
