Jallikattu to be organised in Chennai for the 1st ever time

It has been decided to conduct the event of Jallikattu in the Chennai Metro City for the 1st ever time on 7th January.
The event, called Jallikattu Premier League, will be organised by the Tamil Nadu Jallikattu Peravai and the Chennai Jallikattu Amaippu. The event will be conducted in East Coast Road area.
The logo for the event has been released. 500 youth and the bulls from 17 districts have been selected to participate in the event. The event is scheduled to be telecast on Pongal festival day.
The participants will be divided into 5 groups and the event will be conducted in 3 rounds. 20 bulls will participate in each round. Prizes will be awarded to the winning youth and the bulls.
The organisers of the event explained in this regard that most public from the northern districts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai Metro city, has not seen a Jallikattu event in person. Even the youth who did a winning protest for Jallikattu last year might not have seen a Jallikattu event.
