byteXL Raises $9 Million to Expand AI and Technology Skilling Across India

Edtech company byteXL has raised $9 million in its latest funding round, led by Elevar Equity, with participation from existing investors Kalaari Capital and The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

Founded by brothers Karun and Sricharan Tadepalli, byteXL works with engineering colleges, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, to integrate industry-focused technology and AI skilling into regular academic programmes.

The company said that 7,600 graduates secured IT and engineering roles last year. The new funding will be used to expand its institutional network, strengthen AI-powered learning and assessment tools, and develop new industry-aligned programmes.

byteXL plans to increase its presence from 40 to 120 institutions and expand its reach from 2 lakh to 5 lakh students across 15 states over the next two years.

The latest funding round follows byteXL’s $5.9 million Series A funding raised in July 2024, as the company continues to expand its technology and AI skilling initiatives across India.
