Tiruttani Murugan Temple Aadi Krithigai Festival: Two-Day Theppam Festival Draws Devotees

The Aadi Krithigai festival at the Tiruttani Murugan Temple is being celebrated with great devotion, attracting thousands of devotees. As part of the festival, the two-day Theppam (float) festival was held at the temple’s Saravana Poigai.

The Aadi Krithigai festival at the Tiruttani Murugan Temple has been taking place for the past three days. On the fourth day, Friday, the two-day Theppam festival was conducted as part of the celebrations.

Special Abhishekam at Tiruttani Murugan Temple

As part of the Aadi Krithigai celebrations, special abhishekam and deeparadhana were performed for Lord Murugan. The rituals were conducted at 4 am and 5 pm, using milk, rose water, sacred ash, sandalwood paste, turmeric and other offerings.

Special abhishekam was also performed for the Utsavar deity.

Murugan Deity Takes Part in Theppam Festival

At around 6 pm, Lord Murugan, along with Valli and Deivanai, was taken to the Saravana Poigai located at the foothills of the Tiruttani hill temple.

The deities were decorated with special alankaram and taken on the float as part of the Aadi Krithigai Theppam festival. Special deeparadhana was also performed during the event.

Devotional Music Programmes

As part of the second day of the Theppam festival, a Nadaswaram music programme by musicians associated with the Tiruttani Murugan Temple was held from 5 pm to 6 pm.

Later, at 7 pm, a devotional music programme featuring Kalaimamani Pushpavanam Kuppusamy and Anita Pushpavanam Kuppusamy’s troupe was held as part of the festival celebrations.

The Aadi Krithigai celebrations at Tiruttani Murugan Temple continue to attract large numbers of devotees seeking the blessings of Lord Murugan.
