After witnessing a sharp rise in the morning, gold prices experienced a sudden fall by evening, bringing relief to jewellery buyers. The price of gold has dropped significantly by ₹1,440 per sovereign.
As of today, 22-carat gold is being sold at ₹12,000 per gram and ₹96,000 per sovereign in Chennai.
This decline comes after gold prices had been hovering at record highs for the past few weeks. The unexpected drop has provided some much-needed comfort to consumers who were troubled by the continuous surge in gold rates.
