Everyday about 500 calls are being received by the police control room in Chennai. The police personnel visit the public and provide help in just 10 minutes. The residents have been praising the Chennai Police Commissioner, Mr. D. Arun for this.
It is learnt that Mr. D. Arun has issued orders for all the 12 district police stations to take immediate steps based on the calls received from the public. The police commissioner has warned that action would be taken against those police personnel if they reach the location late. As a result, the police personnel have been reaching the location on time to help those who are in trouble.
It must be noted that a resident belonging to Moggappair contacted Greater Chennai police emergency helpline on 6th May and asked for help getting her son home safely to home. Point is that her 13 year old son had booked a taxi through the Rapido mobile application. Immediately, the police personnel contacted the taxi driver and asked him to take the complainant`s son home safely. Finally, the boy was taken to his home safely.
In another instance, an Uber delivery employee got struck in a lift in a building while he was delivering in Royapettah. He contacted the police control room and asked them to help him. The Royapettah gypsy patrol vehicle police was informed about this immediately and they rushed to the spot quickly and rescued him from the lift. Like these, there are several instances of police personnel helping the residents within 10 minutes.
Point is that the Chennai residents have appreciated the Greater Chennai Police for taking action within 10 minutes to those who contact them for urgent help in accordance with the order from the Police Commissioner.
