The Supreme Court has accepted the Central Government Order extending the deadline for linking Aadhar card with various central government welfare schemes, Mobile number, PAN card, and the bank savings account till 31st March 2018.

A panel comprising a bench of 5 judges, a constitutional Law Panel, headed by Justice Deepak Sharma has been conducting the enquiry. Today (Friday, 15th December), the Supreme Court released an interim order.

In this, it accepted the central government decision to extend the deadline for linking the Aadhar card with various central government welfare schemes up to 31st March 2018.

Supreme Court has further ordered that the central government must compel the public to link Aadhar cards. The public, only on their own interest, must be allowed to do this. The public may be permitted to open bank savings account without Aadhar card. However, the applicants need to submit the proof for having applied for Aadhar.
