With Muharram falling on June 26 (Friday) followed by the weekend, a large number of people are expected to travel from Chennai to their hometowns across Tamil Nadu. To ensure smooth travel and reduce congestion, special buses will be operated from Kilambakkam, Koyambedu and Madhavaram bus terminals to major destinations across the state.

From Kilambakkam, special buses will run to cities including Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Erode, Tiruppur and Nagercoil. Additional services will also be operated from Koyambedu to Tiruvannamalai, Hosur, Bengaluru, Nagapattinam and Velankanni.

After the holiday weekend, the Transport Department will operate 615 special buses on June 28 to help passengers return to Chennai, Bengaluru and other major cities.

Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance through the official TNSTC website or mobile app to avoid last-minute rush and ensure a hassle-free journey.
