Indian Railways Recruitment 2026: Apply for 3,996 Junior Engineer Posts

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a recruitment notification for 3,996 vacancies, including Junior Engineer posts, in Indian Railways. Eligible candidates can apply online on or before September 13, 2026. Candidates preparing for a career in the railways can make use of this opportunity.

Post: Junior Engineer

Eligibility: Candidates must have completed a three-year diploma in any one of the following engineering disciplines: Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunication or Mechanical Engineering.

Post: Depot Material Superintendent

Eligibility: Candidates must have completed a three-year diploma in any engineering discipline.

Post: Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant

Eligibility: Candidates must have completed a B.Sc. degree in any discipline that includes Physics and Chemistry, with at least 45% marks. Candidates should refer to the official notification for complete eligibility details.

Salary: Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹35,400.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxation will be applicable to candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC categories. SC and ST candidates will receive five years of relaxation, OBC candidates will receive three years, and persons with disabilities will receive 10 years of relaxation.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the online written examination, document verification and medical examination. The questions in the written examination will be available in English, Hindi and Tamil.

The online written examination will be conducted in two stages. Candidates should refer to the official notification available on the official website for details regarding the syllabus, marks and other examination-related information.

Application Fee: The application fee is ₹250 for SC, ST, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities, while candidates belonging to all other categories must pay ₹500. The fee must be paid online. After the written examination, ₹400 will be refunded to candidates who paid the ₹500 fee, while the full fee will be refunded to SC and ST candidates.
