Chennai and several coastal districts of Tamil Nadu are expected to enjoy pleasant weather for the next two to three days due to an Upper Air Circulation (UAC) system influencing easterly winds across the region, according to weather blogger Tamil Nadu Weatherman.

The weather system has already brought good rainfall to coastal areas including Puducherry, Cuddalore, Villupuram and the Delta districts on Friday. While rainfall over Chennai and nearby regions remains uncertain, some parts of the city and Chengalpattu district may still receive isolated showers till Monday.

The weather expert stated that the UAC is expected to weaken gradually near the Chennai–Nellore coast by Monday. Until then, easterly winds are likely to maintain cooler temperatures and cloudy conditions over Chennai and nearby districts.

“Enjoy this cool weather for the next 2–3 days,” Tamil Nadu Weatherman said, noting that weather patterns are expected to change next week as the southwest monsoon winds from the Bay of Bengal branch begin moving towards the Andaman Sea.

Rain chances are expected to continue on Saturday for Puducherry, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Delta regions before the system starts fading away. Once the UAC weakens near the Chennai coast, the usual westerly winds are expected to return.

Meanwhile, several other parts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive widespread rainfall in the coming days. Neighbouring states including Kerala, Karnataka and Bengaluru are also expected to witness significant rains next week as monsoon activity strengthens further.
