Tenders floated for the procurement of 100 mini buses by MTC in Chennai!!
Since 2013, MTC or Metropolitan Transport Corporation has been operating mini buses across Chennai for the sake of the public. It is now brought out that MTC would procure as many as 100 mini buses.
At present, there are as many as 146 mini buses operating in Chennai. Out of these as many as 22 mini buses have been operating exclusively for the metro train passengers. In this scenario, a tender has been floated to purchase 100 mini buses to expand the bus service.
At a cost of Rs 34 cr, the buses would be purchased by MTC and these buses would have superb facilities like GPS, panic button and parking camera etc. The TN govt has issued a tender for purchase of 100 mini buses with the new comprehensive minibus scheme coming into effect from 15th of June
