MBBS, BDS Counselling to Begin in Tamil Nadu on August 13

The Tamil Nadu state counselling process for MBBS and BDS admissions will begin on Thursday, August 13. Counselling for special categories and the 7.5% internal quota for government school students will be conducted in person at the Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital campus in Omandurar, Chennai.

The general counselling process will also begin online on the same day.

Tamil Nadu has 7,157 MBBS seats and 1,383 BDS seats under the government quota. Under the management quota, there are 1,996 MBBS seats and 580 BDS seats.

Under the 7.5% quota for government school students, counselling will be held for 537 MBBS seats and 104 BDS seats. A total of 72,633 candidates applied under this category, and the rank list was released on Monday after verification.

Counselling for persons with disabilities, children of ex-servicemen and sports candidates will be held in person on August 13. The schedule begins at 8 am for sports candidates, 8:30 am for children of ex-servicemen and 9 am for differently abled students.

Counselling for the 7.5% government school quota will be conducted from 10 am to 12 noon. Students must bring their NEET hall ticket, scorecard, Class 10, 11 and 12 certificates, residence certificate, community certificate and other required documents.

The general counselling will be conducted online from August 13. Official details will be published on the Medical Education Students Admission Committee website.

Candidates who applied for MBBS and BDS courses but failed to properly submit their certificates have been given a final opportunity. They must upload the required documents online by 10 am on August 12, according to the Directorate of Medical Education and Research.
