Cathay Pacific Chennai–Hong Kong Flights Cancelled Due to Typhoon Warning

Cathay Pacific flights between Chennai and Hong Kong have been cancelled following a typhoon warning in Hong Kong. The precautionary cancellations have affected hundreds of passengers, including travellers connecting through Hong Kong to major international destinations.

Chennai–Hong Kong Flight Cancelled

A Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong carrying 217 passengers arrived at Chennai International Airport at around 11.50 pm on Saturday.

The aircraft was scheduled to return to Hong Kong at 12.50 am with around 220 passengers. However, the return service was cancelled due to the severe weather warning in Hong Kong.

Several passengers who reached Chennai Airport without receiving information about the cancellation were accommodated in hotels across the city. They were informed that arrangements were being made for them to travel to Hong Kong early Monday morning.

Another Cathay Pacific Flight Cancelled

The Cathay Pacific flight scheduled to arrive in Chennai from Hong Kong at 11.50 pm on Sunday was also cancelled as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, the aircraft that arrived in Chennai on Saturday night remained parked at a remote bay at Chennai International Airport. It was expected to depart for Hong Kong early Monday with the stranded passengers, subject to weather and operational conditions.

The Chennai–Hong Kong flight is an important connecting service for passengers travelling onward to several international destinations.

The cancellation affected travellers heading to cities including London, Tokyo, Melbourne, Seoul and Chicago via Hong Kong. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status and travel updates before leaving for the airport.
