Retired temple employees in TN to get an increased pension amount!!

There is some good news for the retired temple employees and their families in TN!!

The pension amount has been increased from Rs 4000 to Rs 5000 now for these retired employees of the temples across Tamil Nadu.

It is learnt that in the Hindu Religious Endowments Departments legislative announcements for 2025-26 it was mentioned that an amount of Rs 4000 per month is being provided to the retired employees of the temples and as department family pension. The pension amount would be increased to Rs 5000 now. The family pension amount would be increased to Rs 2500.

It must be taken into account that temple employees receiving EPF pension are currently receiving Rs 900 to Rs 2190 as pension. These persons would be provided with gratuity on par with those employees receiving departmental pension. Point is that the amount would be provided from the Central Fund interest amount maintained in the Commissioner`s office. Gratuity amount would also be provided to family pensioners.

Yesterday, the TN chief minister Mr. .K. Stalin was busy distributing cheques of an increased amount of Rs 5000 to the retired temple employees and Rs 2500 as family pension.

It is now said that this increased amount would be of huge benefit to as many as 3037 pensioners who are receiving pensions through departmental and employee provident funds (EPF) plus as many as 769 family pensioners. Various personalities who took part in this were Mr. P.K. Sekar Babu, Hindu Religious and Endowments minister, TN chief secretary Mr. Muruganantham,   Mr. Manivasan, tourism, culture and endowments secretary plus few others.
