Tambaram GST Road Faces Daily Traffic Congestion Due to Bus Depot Operations

Traffic congestion on the GST Road near the government bus depot at Kadaperi in Tambaram has become a major concern for commuters and motorists. Buses entering and exiting the depot are frequently parked along the roadside, resulting in traffic disruptions and delays.

According to road users, government buses are often lined up in multiple rows outside the depot, reducing road space and affecting the smooth movement of vehicles. The situation is particularly noticeable during peak operating hours when a large number of buses return to or leave the depot.

Motorists say the congestion leads to long queues and slower traffic movement on one of Chennai’s busiest arterial roads. Residents and commuters have requested transport authorities to improve depot operations and ensure that buses are parked in a regulated manner without affecting public traffic.

The public has urged officials to take necessary measures to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow in the Tambaram–Kadaperi stretch of GST Road.
