Fingerprint registration: Special camp at ration shops across Tamil Nadu today

A special camp for fingerprint registration of ration card holders is being conducted today, September 26, across most fair price shops in Tamil Nadu.

The camp will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The exercise is being carried out to verify Aadhaar details of beneficiaries covered under Priority Household and Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration cards, in line with the National Food Security Act, 2013.

Beneficiaries whose names are linked to electronic family cards have been advised to complete biometric verification using their fingerprints. The verification process has been underway since October 2023.

According to the latest figures, 96.21% of beneficiaries under priority ration cards have already completed fingerprint verification. The special camp is being organised to help complete the remaining registrations.

However, the special camp will not be conducted at fair price shops in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram areas, where by-elections are scheduled. In other areas, eligible ration card holders can visit their respective ration shops during the camp hours.

Ration card holders who have not yet completed their fingerprint registration are advised to use this special camp to complete the biometric verification.
