Tambaram Police Launch Smart Khaki Beat System with 73 Specially Equipped Motorcycles

The Tambaram City Police on Friday launched the ‘Smart Khaki Beat System’, deploying 73 specially equipped motorcycles to strengthen patrolling, improve police visibility and enhance public safety.

The system was inaugurated by Tambaram City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj at the Armed Reserve Headquarters in Paduvancherry.

Modern Equipment for Enhanced Policing

The 73 motorcycles are equipped with modern policing devices and safety equipment, including:

- Public address systems and walkie-talkies

- Body-worn cameras and Android mobile phones

- Blinking lights, sirens and light bars

- Equipment boxes, lathis, helmets and reflective jackets

These features are intended to support beat officers during patrols and improve their ability to respond to public safety concerns.

Round-the-Clock Patrolling in Three Shifts

Under the Smart Khaki Beat System, police personnel will conduct patrols around the clock in three shifts to maintain a continuous police presence and strengthen crime prevention.

The initiative is also expected to improve communication and coordination among police personnel and enable faster responses to emergency calls received through the 100 helpline.

In addition, the system will help officers provide prompt assistance to residents and address public grievances more effectively.

The launch marks a significant step towards strengthening law enforcement, improving police visibility and enhancing public safety across Tambaram.
