Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple Opens Today Ahead of Onam Festival

The Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple will open today at 5 PM ahead of the Onam festival. Special poojas and rituals will be conducted from tomorrow, August 25, until August 28.

According to a statement released by the Travancore Devaswom Board, the temple sanctum will be opened by Melshanthi Prasad Namboothiri in the presence of Thantri Kandararu Brahmadathan. Following the opening, the sacred camphor fire will also be lit.

Special poojas and worship will be held from Tuesday, August 25, to August 28. The temple doors will be closed at 10 PM each day.

On August 26, Thiruvonam Day, the Travancore Devaswom Board will serve Onam Sadya (traditional feast) to Ayyappa devotees.
