Palani Murugan Temple Rope Car Service Resumes Today

The rope car service at the famous Palani Murugan Temple has resumed from today, September 22, after being temporarily suspended for 64 days for annual maintenance work.

The Palani Murugan Temple is located on a hill, and devotees can reach the hilltop temple through the steps, elephant pathway, electric winch railway, and rope car service. Among these options, the rope car is preferred by many devotees as it provides quicker access to the temple while offering views of the natural beauty of Palani Hill.

The rope car service is regularly suspended for monthly and annual maintenance to ensure the safety of devotees. As part of this year`s annual maintenance, the service remained closed for the past 64 days. During this period, devotees used the electric winch railway and steps to reach the hilltop temple.

The maintenance work included fitting new rope car cabins, conducting trial runs, and carrying out renovation and related safety works. With all the scheduled work now completed, the temple administration has announced that the rope car service will resume from today.
