Vande Bharat Ridership Rises 33% to 15.21 Lakh, Revenue Hits ₹162.96 Crore

Vande Bharat Express trains operated by Southern Railway have recorded significant growth in both passenger traffic and revenue during the first two months of the 2026–27 financial year.

During April and May 2026, 15.21 lakh passengers travelled on Vande Bharat trains, generating ₹162.96 crore in revenue, according to Southern Railway.

The figures show a notable increase compared with the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
During April and May 2025, 11.41 lakh passengers travelled on Vande Bharat services, generating ₹119.52 crore in revenue.

This represents an increase of 3.80 lakh passengers and ₹43.44 crore in revenue compared with the same two-month period last year.

The latest figures indicate growing passenger demand for Vande Bharat services across the Southern Railway network, with both ridership and revenue showing substantial year-on-year growth.
