A total of 364 passengers stranded in Dubai due to rising Middle East tensions arrived safely in Chennai on Wednesday morning on the second Emirates Airlines flight.

The situation arose after Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran last Saturday, which led to heightened security concerns across the region. Following the escalation, several Middle Eastern countries temporarily closed their airspace, resulting in the suspension of many international flights from Saturday afternoon.

Due to the airspace restrictions, flight services from Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Qatar, Kuwait, and Muscat were cancelled or delayed. As a result, many passengers who were scheduled to travel to Chennai were stranded at various airports in the Middle East.

Earlier, on Tuesday morning, an Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai brought 217 passengers to Chennai. Later, on Wednesday morning, the second Emirates flight carrying 364 passengers landed at Chennai International Airport, providing relief to stranded travelers.

Passengers Share Their Experience

Passengers arriving in Chennai said they could hear sounds of explosions and military fighter jets flying over Dubai, creating tension among travelers. However, they added that the attacks were mainly targeting buildings and military bases linked to the United States and Israel, and no attacks were reported in civilian areas.

They also mentioned that the Dubai government has been providing strong security and support to foreign travelers and residents, ensuring their safety during the tense situation.
