Good news for train travellers on this route in southern Tamil Nadu!!
Passengers have been requesting additional compartments in the trains going between Mayiladuthurai and Sengottai in southern TN.
Now, based on this request the SR or Southern Railways have decided to add 2 ordinary coaches. The move from SR has been appreciated by many passengers.
It must be recalled that on 25th April Thanjavur district railway users association sent a request to SR regarding including additional compartments in the Mayiladuthurai- Sengottai train. A request was also made to the divisional manager of Trichy Railways Mr. M.S. Anbazhagan also.
In this scenario, from 27th May, the SR has decided to add 2 ordinary coaches to the trains with numbers 16847/16848 Mayiladuthurai – Sengottai express trains. The SR would operate trains with 14 compartments.
After appreciating this decision of SR, the passengers have requested for the extension of the train from Mayiladuthurai through Villupuram up to Katpadi or Tiruvannamalai.
