Gold prices in Chennai increased on Monday, October 19, 2026, according to the latest Madras Jewellers and Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA) rate update. The price of 22-carat gold rose by ₹35 per gram, while 18-carat gold increased by ₹30 per gram. Meanwhile, 14-carat gold and silver prices remained unchanged.

According to the MJDTA update on October 19, 2026, the latest prices are:

22-Carat Gold: ₹13,570 per gram (up ₹35)

18-Carat Gold: ₹11,155 per gram (up ₹30)

14-Carat Gold: ₹8,900 per gram (unchanged)

Silver: ₹240 per gram (unchanged)

22-Carat Gold Price for One Sovereign

The price of 22-carat gold for one sovereign (8 grams) in Chennai stands at ₹1,08,560, an increase of ₹280 compared with the previous rate.

This price excludes jewellery making charges, GST and other applicable costs.

Gold Prices Rise in Chennai

The latest MJDTA update indicates an increase in 22-carat and 18-carat gold prices, while 14-carat gold and silver rates remain stable.
