Tamil Nadu to Complete Classes 1 - 9 Final Exams by Second Week of April Amid Assembly Election
With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, the state government has decided to complete the annual examinations for Classes 1 to 9 by the second week of April.
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi stated that the decision was taken to ensure smooth conduct of elections, as most polling booths are set up in government schools across the state.
Public Exam Schedule
- Class 12 Public Exams conclude on March 26
- Class 10 Public Exams conclude on April 6
Since Assembly elections are likely to be held in the third or fourth week of April, authorities have planned to complete lower-class annual exams earlier than usual.
Exams to Be Conducted Earlier Than Usual
Typically, annual exams for Classes 1 to 9 are completed between April 22 and 24. However, this year, they will be conducted and completed by the second week of April.
As these are not public board examinations, the respective District Chief Educational Officers will finalize the exam schedules.
The minister assured that exams will be conducted without affecting students, and summer holidays will be announced accordingly.
