LHB coaches for Pandian and Nellai expresses
Very soon Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches will be used in the Chennai-Madurai-Chennai Pandian and Chennai-Tirunelveli-Chennai Nellai Superfast express trains. The Railway Board has cleared it.
The LHB coaches, designed on German technology, have inbuilt safety and comfort features that are comparable to world class standards.
The cost of manufacturing each LHB coach that is designed to attain a speed of up to 160 kmph is said to be Rs. 2.5 crore.
