TN Election 2026: Second Phase Training Held for 3.04 Lakh Polling Officials
Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, the second phase of special training for polling officials was conducted across Tamil Nadu on April 15.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik, extensive training sessions are being organized statewide to prepare officials for smooth election operations.
As part of this phase, polling station-level officers and polling personnel were given hands-on training in handling Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and managing polling procedures effectively. The sessions focused on ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency during the voting process.
Officials were also provided practical demonstrations on the proper usage of EVMs and were allowed to simulate voting to gain better clarity and confidence. Additionally, guidance was given on enabling voters to cast their votes independently and securely.
A total of approximately 3.04 lakh officials participated in this training programme across the state.
Furthermore, training included instructions on using the Election Commission of India’s mobile application to upload polling data in real-time from each polling booth, ensuring seamless monitoring and reporting on election day.
Authorities stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure polling officials are fully equipped to handle their responsibilities efficiently during the election.
