Dry weather conditions continue to dominate across Tamil Nadu, and temperatures are expected to rise gradually over the next few days, according to the Chennai Meteorological Centre.

Officials said that due to persistent dry conditions, temperatures in many parts of the state are already 2°C to 3°C above normal levels. The heat impact was clearly seen in Karur, where the temperature touched 102°F recently.

A lower-level atmospheric circulation extending from the Gulf of Mannar to north interior Karnataka is influencing the current weather pattern, leading to continued dry conditions across most regions.

However, southern districts and Puducherry have recorded temperatures close to normal.

Meanwhile, some relief is expected in the hill regions. Light rainfall is likely in the hill areas of Coimbatore and Nilgiris on March 27. From March 28 to March 30, light to moderate rain is expected in districts along the Western Ghats.

The weather department also stated that there is no significant change in maximum temperatures today, but from March 26 to 28, temperatures may gradually increase by 2°C to 3°C in a few places.

In Chennai, the weather is expected to remain near normal, with typical summer heat continuing.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions as temperatures continue to rise across the state.
