Tamil Nadu Govt to Establish 500 Aavin Milk Parlours to Boost Dairy Industry

In an effort to enhance milk sales and improve dairy production, the Tamil Nadu government will set up 500 Aavin milk parlours across the state at a cost of ₹10 crore, announced Milk and Dairy Development Minister RS Rajakannappan in the Assembly on Thursday.

Key Initiatives Announced:

Modern Milk Quality Checks:

- 129 infrared analysis devices (₹6.45 crore) to detect adulteration.
- 1,437 cloud milk analysis devices (₹9.34 crore) for real-time quality testing.

Financial and Digital Support:

- ₹2,000 crore allocated for animal husbandry loans to support farmers.
- 525 primary milk producers` cooperative societies to be computerized (₹2.63 crore).

Encouragement for Farmers:

- Awards to be given to best-performing dairy cows at the district level.

The government aims to modernize milk procurement, improve quality standards, and support dairy farmers, strengthening Tamil Nadu’s dairy industry.
