Tamil Nadu Extends MBBS and BDS Application Deadline by Two More Days

The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has extended the application deadline for MBBS and BDS admissions by two more days, giving eligible candidates additional time to complete the admission process.

Admissions are being conducted for government medical colleges, government dental colleges, and private self-financing medical colleges across Tamil Nadu. Selection will be based on NEET 2026 scores.

The online application process began on June 27, and admissions will be conducted for approximately 15,000 MBBS and BDS seats across the state.

So far, 72,000 candidates have registered, while 60,000 applicants have successfully completed and submitted their applications. Following requests from students seeking more time, the application deadline has now been extended until 5:00 PM on July 25 (Saturday), according to Dr. Lokanayaki, Secretary, Medical Admissions.

The counselling process in Tamil Nadu will begin only after the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) commences the All India Quota counselling. Meanwhile, the verification of submitted applications is currently underway.

The rank list is expected to be released during the first week of August, and officials have noted that the number of applicants for medical admissions has increased this year compared to previous years.
